JOB DESCRIPTION: RESTAURANT SERVER

Job Overview:

The purpose of the position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience while dining at Stephano’s Trattoria. Restaurant Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving them in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guests’ needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed.

Applicants will be expected to provide a high level of knowledge on the menu, ingredients, drink and wine list, and of the customer service expected at Stephano’s Trattoria.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provide fantastic customer service to all guests at all time.

· Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure condiments are refilled and performing all other preparation tasks.

· Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items….etc.

· Ability to suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, inform customers of food preparation details, communicate specific customer needs to the kitchen.

· Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering drinks and desserts, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.

· Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, and returning change.

· Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed.

· Keep dining room stocked and monitored to ensure cleanliness throughout shift. This includes completing daily side work tasks.

· Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.

Job Qualifications

Experience:

· Previous serving experience preferred but not required.

· Excellent oral communication skills required.

· Positive interpersonal skills required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $2.50 - $5.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
