Duration: 12 months CTH w/ possibility of extensions

Location: Hybrid in Addison, TX (3-5 days/ week on site)

Solution Architect

We are seeking an Solution Architect to join our dynamic team! This position plays a critical role in the modernization efforts of monolithic application. You will aid in designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions based on microservices SaaS solution on Microsoft Azure. You will be part of a highly innovative fast-paced team, incorporating emerging software technologies to deliver best practice solutions. This role plays a crucial role in creating robust, scalable, and efficient cloud solutions that drive digital transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements into appropriate microservices and integration models.
  • Build security models around microservices, ensuring proper access control, policies, and authentication.
  • Develop high-performing microservices that can scale to handle multiple requests.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Microservices Architecture: In-depth understanding of microservices architecture design.
  • Azure Services: Proficiency in Azure services relevant to microservices, such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure API Management, and Azure Service Fabric.
  • Containerization: Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • RESTful APIs: Design and implementation of REST-based microservices.
  • GraphQL APIs: Design and implementation of GraphQL-based microservices.
  • Scalability and Resilience: Knowledge of building scalable and resilient microservices.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Proactively share information on engineering methodologies, standards, and best practices with team members.
  • Risk Management: Identify, communicate, and mitigate assumptions, issues, and risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Collaborate with clients to make strategic decisions impacting their business solutions.
    • Ensure the integrity of technical designs and features within the solution architecture.
    • Lead development teams, actively contributing to coding best practices.
    • Provide accurate estimates for project scopes and development timelines.

Qualifications:

o 5 years experience designing and implementing microservices solutions.

o 3 years of experience architecting Azure cloud-based solutions.

o Bachelor's degree

o Microsoft Certified in microservices. (preferred, not required)

o Strong understanding of cloud architecture and design principles.

o Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • The ability to handle customer critical issues and work in difficult situations.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to develop strategic ongoing customer relationships to gain the trust and respect of customers.
  • Excellent customer service skills, good oral and written communication skills, proven ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations involving the most critical and politically charged customer situations, lead projects and motivate others.

Team Details:

Project: TAS 2.0- home grown cloud native application, how do they implement microservices and implement best practices? What does the cloud have to provide them in order to host on azure cloud? This person needs to be familiar with designing microservices

  • will communicating with the business
  • Share knowledge about azure services (everything around microservices will be used)

-Rewriting app- knowledge of restful API, risk management, working with developers to make sure they are using best practices, POC's, dealing with application solutions

  • Team has not worked with microservices, only created API's. Team received training but has no hands on experience.

Scope of project:

  • Project is starting this month, has had some delay. Key two roles: cloud and solution architect.
  • April-July setting up environment on cloud and collecting requirements from the business. What is currently in their legacy system. Goal is to not do any reverse engineering and work with a clean slate in modernizing.
