This critical position provides a unique opportunity to support the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

This role provides a unique opportunity to provide Systems Engineering and Integration support to the Management Services and Operations (MS&O) Directorate at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The NRO is expanding to support new missions while maintaining existing facilities infrastructure in collaboration with mission stakeholders. Facilities infrastructure maintenance and upgrade actives are critical to mission operations, while minimizing or mitigating risk is important to all stakeholders. Daily collaboration with key decision makers and stakeholders to explore creative ways to ensure simultaneous facilities maintenance and project event and mission completion and success.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting the NRO and is familiar with the issues related to Operations and Facilities across the NRO enterprise. In this role you will provide Systems Engineering and Integration support, for both the Headquarters and Mission Ground Stations. The customers directly supported are the MS&O Chief Architect and Systems Engineer (CASE) at HQ and the Chief Engineer and the Support Division leads at the Ground Stations.

• Provide strategic and operational planning, systems engineering/integration, and advisory support in a dynamic, high-paced environment
• Interact with Senior US Government leaders, project managers, and facilities and operations stakeholders to aid in the successful completion of facilities infrastructure activities without impacts to operations
• Provide technical support, guidance and analysis in the design and construction phases for projects changing infrastructure baselines
• Review non-facilities baseline change requests to identify and ensure facilities equities are addressed while supporting engineering review boards
• Provide support in assessing, analyzing, mitigation, and managing system and project risks
• Bridge facilities and mission operations to provide high level situational awareness to leadership and stakeholders for use in deconflicting activities and planning
• Coordinate, organize and lead a team for critical infrastructure events
• Review and update Systems Engineering and Integration standards, governance and policy

Required Qualifications: 

• U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field / Business or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Possess an active and current TS/SCI and pass a Polygraph
• Three (3) years or more of relevant NRO systems engineering experience
• Strong analytical skills and ability to develop and recommend solutions for problems/issues
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Must have strong communications skills, written and oral, and be able to work across various levels of leadership as well as across other CM or SE teams and offices

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in a science or engineering discipline 
• Intelligence Community familiarity, and depth
• NRO Operations Experience
• Be conversant with host site offices and divisions and tenants
• Leadership ability to interact with Senior and Junior personnel to manage Facilities plans and requirements
• Experience with performance metrics

The typical pay range for this position is USD $130,000 - $150,000 per year, total package. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, retirement plan and other benefits (all included as part of package).

Deliverable(s)

Deliverables will be in the format of reports, briefings, spreadsheets, or other documents as directed by the Government. The nature of the work will, at times, require a quick response to stringent deadlines and always in a high quality, professional manner.
