Stellar Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a recent college graduate in its Department of Defense (DoD) sector. We’re seeking a highly motivated, self-directed systems engineer to support critical needs at the Tools, Applications and Processing lab (“TAP Lab”) in Boulder, CO. TAP Lab is a unique and innovative US Space Force (USSF) research and development (R&D) unit that addresses long-term operational needs in future space architectures, develops leading-edge software algorithms and applications, and hosts important space program activities including new prototypes and ground-based capabilities. 

Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

We are seeking a technically adept, team-oriented and forward-thinking systems engineer to contribute to the lab’s engineering capabilities. You will team with and benefit from mentoring by experienced experts in multiple disciplines, providing you ample opportunities to build your technical skills while making a positive impact on national security. TAP Lab’s critical needs include infrastructure/mechanical engineering to expand the lab and accommodate new programs; planning and integration of new ground-based satellite control and data processing suites; formulating technology roadmaps to address future challenges; and exploration of advanced technologies (e.g., AI/ML) to meet those challenges. These and other critical needs offer an ideal environment to develop your skills and gain exposure to different technical areas of the TAP Lab’s mission set.

Required Skills

• Recent graduate with at least a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics or relevant field
• Experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas; systems engineering, infrastructure/mechanical engineering and analysis, advanced technology implementation, or software development
• Experience using software languages and tools to solve technical challenges
• Proven ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Highly reliable self-starter; can be counted on to complete assignments
• Collaborates well with others and can also work well independently

Desired Qualifications

• Internship/experience with other companies using current STEM degree
• Current Secret clearance

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field

Security Clearance & Other Requirements:

• Successful candidate must be able to qualify for and maintain a Secret security clearance
• This position is on-site at the customer facility in Boulder, CO at least three days/week.
• Candidate will be required to spend approximately half time supporting Stellar Solutions business objectives

The typical pay range for this position is USD $80,000 - $90,000 per year, total package. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, retirement plan and other benefits (all included as part of package).

Deliverable(s)

Deliverables will be in the format of reports, briefings, spreadsheets, studies or other documents as directed by Stellar Solutions and Government customers, using approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction.
