Job Title : Packer

Description
The Packers primary role is to prepare andpackage finished products for shipment anything from small boxeditems up to large palletized or crated assemblies.
Packers mustreconcile outgoing shipments against packing slips to verifycorrect products and quantities and must ensure product isadequately protected for transportation.
Duties may also includeassisting in other material handling responsibilities such asbreaking down incoming shipments picking items from inventory forproduction or cycle counting.
Qualifications
- 12 years warehouse experience
- Forklift experience preferred
- Somecarpentry experience preferred
- Ability tolift 100 pounds
Competencies
- Spatial organizationskills
- Attention to details on paperwork suchas order numbers part numbers descriptions andquantities.
- Intuitive understanding ofpackaging materials and best practices to prevent productdamage.
- Ability to construct structurallysound pallets and crates.
- Equipment Packerswill be trained and qualified to operate the following equipment w / appropriate PPE :
- Overhead crane
- Dock leveler
- Sit downforklift.
- Power tools including circular sawpanel saw table saw impact drill.
Responsibilities
- Verify and sign off onpacked items using order number part numbers descriptions andquantities.
- Safely package smaller boxed itemsmaximizing protection while reducing packaging materialwaste
- Safely pack secure and protect boxed orunboxed items on pallets or in crates for outgoingshipments.
- Modify or construct custom palletsor crates as needed from raw wood materials.
- Assist in breaking downincoming shipment picking material for orders or inventory cyclecounting as needed.

- Achieve 99.9% safedelivery.
- Protect outgoing shipments fromdamage through proper packaging methods.
- Prevent delivery of incorrect product or quantities bythoroughly verifying packing slips to the order number part numbersdescriptions and quantities
