Company Summary
Stellar Energy provides custom power augmentation and energy plant solutions for power generation and utilities, liquefied natural gas (LNG), data center, biopharma, and other markets. Stellar Energy’s innovative solutions include Combined Cycle Power plant conversions turbine inlet air chilling, inlet air conditioning (heating and cooling), evaporative cooling, direct contact air chilling, thermal energy storage, district cooling and central utility plants. The company’s experience spans more than 20 years and stretches across the globe, with offices in the United States, Asia and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Summary Objective
The Supplier Quality Specialist will be responsible for supporting Procurement in effectively managing the supply base. All Stellar Energy suppliers are audited for approval, monitored/managed for quality (non-conformance, delivery, warranty) and held accountable for all non-conformance through the NCR process. The successful candidate will own this end-to-end process and ensure that all activities comply with the Quality Manual, the ISO 9001:2015 standard, the specific requirements of our clients and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Research, sources, and assesses the best vendors to supply the necessary materials.
  • Visits vendor facilities and observes the manufacturing environment to review their quality management system.
  • Performs regular quality control audits to ensure vendors continue to work in compliance with company and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Reviews incoming supplies and products from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality.
  • Maintains detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates and areas that result in flaws.
  • Provides technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.
  • Serves as a liaison between our company's senior management and the vendors to identify quality issues and come up with solutions.
  • Manages the approved suppliers list and supplier scorecards.
  • Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.
  • Assists in driving efficiency of Stellar Energy Supply Chain through process automation and other continuous improvement projects.

Work Environment
This position operates out of an HQ and Manufacturing Facility.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel
25% - 35% Travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
  • BA in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business and 2 years in a Supplier Manager role; or
  • 5 years in a Supplier Manager Role

Work Authorization
Must be qualified to work in the United States
