Location: Melville, NY

Salary: $100,000-$130,000

Responsible for solving engineering problems in one or more phases of ongoing long term product development and test/manufacturing support. Involving the analysis, research, design, development, fabrication, and testing of devices or systems. Assignments may be varied and somewhat difficult in character, but usually involve limited responsibility with some evaluation, originality, or ingenuity.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and conduct studies on specifications and requirements of the project.
• Perform original RF circuit design and analysis.
• Supply technical assistance and coordination to designers and staff assigned to the project.
• Provides direction to the Engineering Technician and Associate Engineer while breadboarding, wiring, debugging and testing is being performed.
• Design and plans wiring layouts and schematics.
• Plan tests to be conducted and arranges the test setup.
• Check performance of devices during tests and evaluates the results.
• Provide technical assistance in the preparation of spare parts lists, special tools, test equipment and other engineering data.
• Specify the procurement of specialized components and test equipment.
• May participate in field tests and other travel duties.
• Assist in preparation of bids and proposals.
• Use PC-based Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) programs of moderate complexity.
• Maintain a positive work environment by professional and courteous conduct and communications with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Electrical engineering (BSEE) or equivalent
• Knowledge of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) programs preferred.
• 4 years of RF Microwave Engineering experience in design, development, analysis and investigation of electronic devices and systems required.
• Proficiency generating schematics, PCB layout, and hands-on experience evaluating, testing, tuning, and modifying circuits to meet specifications.
• Proficiency using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and simulation software. 
• Modeling and Simulating
• Optimizing new conceptual circuits along with evaluating, testing, tuning, and modifying circuits to meet specifications
• Amplifier design using both packaged components and bare die
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience writing technical specifications and other technical documents
• Costpoint, ERP systems, Microsoft Office proficiency
