Stella Maris is seeking a full-time Draftsman/Designer. The desired candidate will need to have an in-depth understanding of Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks and be proficient in its use. Responsibilities will include creating flow diagrams, general equipment layouts, assembly, and fabrication drawings for complex equipment packages. Examples include: Hydraulic Power Units, Chemical Injection Skids, Hydro-Test equipment, BOP Closing Units, and DPR control Systems. Candidate will interface with Project Managers and Engineers on a daily basis to determine most effective design and required details for project construction.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Produce technically correct and dimensionally accurate designs using 2D and 3D CAD packages to meet company targets
• Work alongside and assist engineers and designers on a directed project-by-project basis
• May assist in determining material and equipment selection
• Drafting of proposal drawings for inclusion in bid package
• Meet with clients to gain clear understanding of client requirements
• Create concept by gathering information and materials and illustrate by designing rough layout
• Obtain approval of rough layout concept before proceeding with detailed design
• Advise on best practices and optimizations throughout design project
• Resolve design discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
• Basic math knowledge (scale conversions, geometry, basic trig)
• Perform other duties as required by management

Experience/Education Requirements:

Associate degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
