Our Technicians provide assistance to the nursing staff and chemical dependency counselors throughout all levels of care including Detox and Residential. Technicians ensure the security and safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
DUTIES:
· Ability to assist with admission procedures, including cleaning and preparing rooms.
· Ability to greet new patients, conducting orientation and answer basic questions regarding the program.
· Ability to co-facilitate groups and document interactions.
· Ability to provide support to patients who are unable to sleep, agitated, and/or uncomfortable with the withdrawal process.
· Ability to observe and report significant client information to nursing and counseling staff.
· Ability to perform security checks of the building, room checks, and searches of patient belongings.
· Ability to monitor visitors for AA/NA meetings, client activities, family programs, etc.
· Ability to assist with client discharges.
· Ability to assist in obtaining urine specimens.
· Ability to respond to medical and other emergencies and notify appropriate administrative staff. Document observation of any incidents that occur.
· Ability to respond to urgent patient issues or crisis situations.
· Ability to answer the phone and assist callers.
· Ability to distribute patient mail.
· Ability to work cooperatively with other staff/disciplines as part of an interdisciplinary team.
· Completion of requirements for annual agency training compliance.
· Ability to uphold patient rights and confidentiality regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. College students seeking degrees in psychology, medicine, or a related discipline are strongly encouraged to apply for hands-on experience.
· Valid and clear Ohio Driver’s License
· Knowledge of chemical dependency, the disease concept, 12-step programs; CDCA accreditation is a plus
· Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills
· Computer competency
