Job Overview:
Our Company is a rapidly growing transportation provider in the waste disposal and recycling industry. We are looking for an experienced, positive, collaborative, uplifting, career-minded HR professional that will grow as our Company grows.
As our Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you complete a weekly, ADP payroll for 350, full-time, W2 employees. In addition to payroll, the ideal candidate will be able complete a variety of general HR functions such as onboarding new hires, completing benefits enrollments in ADP and within our insurance carrier portals, and/or responding to questions about policies, procedures, benefits plans, garnishments, wage verifications, etc.
In this full-time position, you will report to the Director of Human ResourcesIn this position, you will report directly to the Director of Human Resources and work collaboratively with members of the Accounting Team, as well as all levels of Management. This position is onsite, not remote. Our office is located at: 15423 Vantage Parkway East, Houston, Texas, 77373
Depending on business needs, the HR Team works Monday - Friday with evenings and weekends required during special events such as annual Open Enrollment and/or New Jobsite/New Employee Onboardings, etc. Travel within the United States is required when onboarding acquired companies.
The ideal candidate becomes benefit eligible (vacation, sick time, paid holidays, medical/dental/vision coverage, and life insurance) the first of the month after 60 days of employment. Every year, you will be included in our Annual Performance Review Process.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Work closely with members of the HR Team to onboard new hires, ensuring that their information is entered in all HR Information Systems (inclusive of geofencing for mobile devices and time keeping training for all new hires),
  • Process a weekly payroll for permanent employees using ADP Workforce Now, inclusive of managing the accuracy of employee employment statuses, electronic records profiles, tax filings, garnishments, W2s, and 1095s, etc.,
  • Maintain the accuracy of our Insurance Carrier portals and monthly insurance carrier invoices,
  • Answer and resolve payroll and benefits questions for employees regarding holiday pay, overtime, and proper completion of FMLA and disability claim forms,
  • Leave of Absence Management, including the collection of benefits premiums,
  • Complete employment and wage verifications or other third-party paperwork requested by state, federal or lending institutions,
  • Build and release weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting and analytics,
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy of ADP records and to identify potential areas of process and productivity improvements,
  • Using reporting/analytics to address findings, not only correcting data, but making recommendations to improve workflow to collect data,
  • Support electronic systems implementation and integration projects,
  • Support Finance, Accounting, A/R & A/P as needed with special projects (if time allows), and
  • all other duties as assigned as the Company grows our business.
Job Requirements:
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience,
  • 3-5 years managing weekly payroll for a mid-size company, consisting W2 employees,
  • Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred,
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practice,
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing,
  • Managerial/supervisory experience,
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules and laws,
  • Solid financial acumen, and
  • Fluency in 'ADP Workforce Now' platform.
