Job Title: Dishwasher

Department: Back of House

Reports To: Cooks, Managers & Owners

Requirements: Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. Must be comfortable working in a small space. Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be comfortable getting hands and forearms wet regularly. Dishwashers are also expected to help with prep tasks such as; chopping vegetables or mixing sauces. Must be comfortable and dress appropriately to put dishes away in front of house areas. Must be able to hear in a sometimes loud environment. Must possess and present I-9 documents upon hire.

Desired Traits: Applicants with previous dishwashing or kitchen experience are preferred. Must be able to move quickly and efficiently during busy times and stay self-motivated to complete cleaning tasks during slower periods. Attendance and timeliness are extremely important in the dishwashing position.

Certifications: Current WA state food handler’s card or the ability to obtain within one week of hire.

Responsibilities: Opening Dishwashers are responsible for opening procedures such as cleaning bathrooms, sweeping and mopping, vacuuming and setting up dish pit by washing prep dishes. Closing dishwashers are responsible for cleaning and putting away all dishes, sweeping and mopping and taking out all trash including cardboard. All dishwashers are expected to have attention to detail and ensure all dishes are cleaned and put away in appropriate areas, help with messes around the restaurant including mid shift “bathroom incidences”, removing cardboard and trash as it accumulates throughout the day and responsible for cleaning grease traps and taking used grease to outside disposal area. Dishwashers must also ensure all cleaning chemicals are full and dish machine is functioning properly. Any issues must be communicated to supervisor on duty immediately.
