Working in Project Delivery Unit (PDU)

Statkraft builds hydropower plants in target markets in Europe, India and Latin America, and PDU is the responsible unit for the pre-construction and construction phase of the projects with a Capex exceeding 300 MNOK..

PDU provides support and quality services to Statkraft assets to ensure optimization through value engineering of large greenfield and upgrade projects, including technical, HSSE and project management services. PDU has a group-wide responsibility to develop Statkraft’s way of working through the construction phase and to deliver the competence and capacity to ensure project construction performance.

Your role:

Your main areas of responsibility will include:

  • Be a Senior Specialist within Underground Construction, supporting development projects and rehabilitation projects in Norway and internationally
  • Work in close cooperation with the project teams and technical groups, both in early phase development, detailed design and during construction
  • Be part of a group of Technical Experts within geotechnics (soil and rock)
  • Contribute to effective governance and procedures
  • Be a driver for new practises in the field of planning and construction of Underground structures
  • Participate in Merger & Acquisition projects

Kvalifikasjoner

About you:

You have a passion for Underground structures and Engineering Geology and a basic knowledge of soil mechanics and hydrogeology

  • PhD/MSc/BSc in Engineering Geology/ Rock Mechanics or equivalent (including relevant geological knowledge)
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years of practical experience from design and construction of underground projects in Norway and international (preferably including hydropower), including experience with all phases and aspects of a major construction project.
  • Knowledge in use of digital tools like ACAD (incl. 3D), geotechnical software, etc
  • You are flexible in terms of tasks and mobility as the role requires providing local support in country and/or at site for shorter or longer periods as agreed.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Commercial and strategic mindset.

The candidate shall have high ethical standards and strong HSSE focus as well as excellent communication skills and proficiency in one of the Scandinavian languages and English, both orally and in writing.

Statkraft develops, builds and manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. The applicant must be eligible for security clearance and authorisation.
