StateServ Medical is Hiring a RT MANAGER Near Mesa, AZ

Essential Functions

Specific tasks, responsibilities or competencies may be documented in the incumbent’s performance objectives as outlined by the incumbent’s immediate supervisor or manager.

1. Relies on advanced expertise and experience to perform work and has substantial latitude and discretion in the way work is performed.

2. Drives or participates in recruitment, selection, employee orientation, training, coaching and management for Respiratory Therapy team members. Ensures employee actions are executed in a manner that embraces organizational values.

3. Consults with nurses regarding clinical service offerings and education on durable medical equipment (DME) equipment to provide the most comfort for patient’s respiratory needs.

4. Maintains legal and compliance accreditation by developing policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations, and accreditation standards, anticipating emerging issues.

5. Coordinates the pertinent patient information with internal units and respiratory therapists to ensure correct equipment is dispatched for proper set up of DME respiratory equipment (respirator, CPAP, oxygen, etc).

6. Partners with internal units on safe operation of respiratory care equipment by ensuring team is adhering to accreditation and company safety regulations; evaluating new equipment and techniques; auditing inventory of equipment; and preventive maintenance activities; adjusting equipment; troubleshooting malfunctions; arranging for repairs.

7. Measures quality of care through patient auditing and interviews; tracking key indicators; analyzing quality assurance summary reports. Creates action plans to resolve service concerns.

8. Ensures all doctor prescribed care plans are implemented through durable medical equipment (DME) product delivery and respiratory therapy order consultations.

9. Responsible for adhering to and delivering on Division MBO’s, cost management, and ensuring all revenue is accounted for via DMETrack system.

10. With the appropriate sense of urgency and dedication to service, addresses and resolves non-routine and escalated service related issues and challenges from nurses, patients, and others. Ensures relationships and service integrity are maintained while implementing win-win outcomes.
Marginal or Additional Functions
1. Assists senior leadership in developing, interpreting and implementing new policies as requested or appropriate.
2. Updates respiratory therapy job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
3. Resources and recommends special request products via procurement to aid in care for patients.
4. Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Supervisory and Managerial Responsibility
Direct management and oversight of Respiratory Therapists and contracted Respiratory Therapists is entailed. This includes but is not limited to recruitment, attraction and performance management for staff.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education, Licensure or Certification:
  • Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • Licensed RT
  • CRT
  • RRT
Work Experience or Related Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Respiratory Therapist
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience with respiratory case management working with nurses and patients
  • One to three years of direct management experience is required
  • Operational experience in a hospice environment preferred
  • Operational Experience in the healthcare or medical field to gain thorough understandings of respiratory durable medical equipment (DME)
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • The ability to be proactive and self-directed utilizing good time management, decision-making, and organizational skills. Incumbents must be able to prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Operational experience working with ventilators, AirVo units, and liquid oxygen required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary. Must be able to tailor verbal and written communications for both internal and external customers, resolving issues, handling frustrations or escalating feedback appropriately for each type of customer in a calm and confident manner.
  • Meets respiratory therapy financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow standard operating procedures regarding patient data to ensure compliance with HIPAA is required.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast pace entrepreneurial environment.
  • A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of HIPAA required to analyze and resolve escalated issues.

  • The ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate unplanned events and participate in an on-call rotation is essential
