Attorney - Legal Counsel
(Principal Administrative Appointment)
The State Universities Civil Service System (University System) is seeking a full-time licensed attorney with a solid understanding of both business and government operations. Attorney-Legal Counsel will provide advice and guidance to the Agency’s governing board, director, and department heads regarding the interpretation and application of statutes, rules, and procedures. Key responsibilities include:
Successful candidates will possess excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills. Experience in dispute resolution, advising and representing a multi-member board, and familiarity with the state legislative process is desirable.
Qualifications
Applicant must have a JD and be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
Applicants awaiting results from the February 2024 bar exam and recent law graduates are encouraged to apply.
Salary
The salary will be commensurate with education and experience (starting at approximately $80,000).
