State Seal Company is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Chandler, AZ

Position Title: Inspector

Department: Quality

Reports To: Quality Manager

Salary Type: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector performs various receiving inspections, in-process inspections, verification of completed paperwork, identifying non-conformance issues, final product inspection and checking dimensions of production detail parts and assemblies using hand tools such as calipers, scales, micrometers and height gauge. Basic AS9102, First article and PPAP skills. Inspectors should be proficient in blue print reading as well as specification interpretation and be able to apply these skills to preform first article inspection using in-house programs such as Inspection Xpert and Net Inspect. The Inspector should be able to identify drawing revision changes as well as purchase order requirements. Basic knowledge of the requirements, maintenance, and implementation of AS9100 guidelines is required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure procedures and work instructions are followed, resolving quality related issues with internal or external customers.
  • Perform receiving, 1st piece checks, in process, and final inspection, as required.
  • Generate required reports, perform verifications, tracking of data and recommendation of process improvements
  • Verify incoming product to ensure purchase orders and customer requirements are met.
  • Verify assemblies meet all customer requirements.
  • Ensure that instruments used for product acceptance are in calibration prior to use.
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances per established procedures.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Create manufacturing and distribution PPAP submissions per customer requirements
  • Create AS9102 cert packages for FAIRs, when required.
  • Create a Detailed Inspection Plan using designated software.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to understand customer specifications and requirements.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances as well as blue print reading.
  • Skilled using measuring equipment, such as scales, calipers, micrometers, hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9102.
  • Knowledge of FAI’s, DIP’s, and Net Inspect.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written.
  • Good organizational skills.

Education and Experience: (Final Determination made by Hiring Manager):

High school graduate or equivalent, minimum of 3 years of work-related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. Must have close visual acuity. May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
