This position is in our Manufacturing & Utility (MU) Bureau at our Madison district office.

This is an entry level Gross Revenue/Ad Valorem Books and Records Auditor position. This position conducts office and field audits of the books, records and memoranda of air carriers, pipelines, railroads, conservation and regulation, municipal electric, and telephone companies. This position also prepares or assists in the preparation of the annual property tax appraisal of air carrier, pipeline, railroad, conservation and regulation, municipal electric, telecommunication, and gross revenue companies. Work is performed under close supervision of the Manufacturing & Utility Bureau Director.
Starting salary for Revenue Auditor 2 is between $29.00/hour and $34.75/hour and Revenue Auditor 3 is between $33.50/hr and $38.50/hour depending on qualifications. Both are in pay schedule/pay range 07-03. Current state employee pay will be based on the rules of the State Compensation Plan. A 12-month probationary period is required. Flexible work schedules are available, as well as partial remote work options (after six months of employment).
The department will conduct a background, fingerprint, and tax compliance checks on all finalists. Interview results may be reused in accordance with the state of Wisconsin interview reuse policy.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. The Department of Revenue does not sponsor work or student visas, either at time of hire or at any later time. DOR participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with Form I-9 information for all new employees to confirm authorization to work in the U.S.
