The Department of Health Services (DHS), Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) is recruiting for multiple Nursing Supervisors for Unit Operations. CWC provides short-term and residential services to assist people living with intellectual disabilities in acquiring the personal skills needed to reach their highest potential. CWC is located at 317 Knutson Drive on the North side of Madison. CWC also has a 24/7 fitness center, free parking, and is on the Madison Metro bus route.
The 4 Nursing Supervisor positions will be in the following units: Murphy Hall West, Murphy Hall East, Living Unit 2 and the Short-Term Care Unit. This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies at CWC over the next six months.

As the Nursing Supervisor, you will have responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care and supervision of LPNs, and RNs. You will collaborate with Unit Directors, Administrative Staff, Charge Nurses, Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing to ensure nursing standards of care and best practices are followed. You will actively problem solve complex care issues with the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure safety and continuity of care. As the Nursing Supervisor, you will also seek opportunities to improve care practices, initiate quality improvement projects, and provide nursing consultation to diverse staff.
The starting salary is between $50.31 and $54.47 per hour (approximately between $104,600 and $113,300 per year), depending on qualifications. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. Nursing Supervisors are in pay schedule/range 50/11.
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by CWC, or medical personnel approved by the center prior to their start date.
Employees are required to provide documentation of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by their start date. Exceptions will be granted to those who obtain an approved medical or religious accommodation or those who provide documentation requiring a delay in receiving the vaccine.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
