State of Wisconsin is Hiring a LTE Office Associate (Madison) Near Madison, WI

Introduction

In partnership with individuals and organizations, DNR staff manage fish, wildlife, forests, parks, air and water resources while promoting a healthy, sustainable environment and a full range of outdoor opportunities.

The Wisconsin DNR is hiring an LTE (Limited Term Employee) – Office Associate at our Central Headquarters, in Madison, WI.

This posting may be used to fill future similar vacancies.

Position Summary

This position assists in administering the statewide wastewater, municipal waterworks, and small water system (OTM/NN) operator certification programs and the septage, landfill and incinerator operator certification programs authorized under Wisconsin Administrative Codes ch. NR 113 and 114, and well drillers and pump installers certifications under NR 812. This position assists with processing of applications, renewal forms and printing and mailing reminders. The assistant is responsible for processing operator exam applications, assembly of the exam packets and proctoring the operator exams. This position utilizes the Environmental Licensing and Certification (ELC) database and will be responsible for data entry and running of reports.

30% Document Processing

  • Process operator renewal forms, print and mail renewal reminders
  • Process operator training attendance rosters and training report forms
  • Scan, file and organize experience forms, applications, and septage vehicle inspections

30% Office Support

  • Sort and triage incoming mail
  • Responsible for processing outgoing mail
  • Responsible for maintaining documents based on the record retention policy and creating electronic versions of documents

20% Assemble, Administer and Proctor Exams

  • Process operator exam applications
  • Assemble exam packets
  • Administer and proctor exams in various locations around the state

10% Data Entry and Customer Service

  • Run reports such as certificates, exam confirmation letters, exam result letter and license cards
  • Contact customers to verify information and update customer profiles in database

10% Other duties as directed by the Operator Certification Coordinator and Supervisor

Salary Information

This position pays $18.17 per hour and is in pay schedule and range 02-09. Compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Limited Term Employment: This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position. LTE positions do not automatically lead to permanent state employment or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employees; however, these positions do offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin.

LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours per position within a twelve-month period.

Residency Requirement: In order to be considered for this position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin.
