The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill an Institution Unit Supervisor position. This position is based out of Oakhill Correctional Institution located in Oregon, WI.
This position does not have the option of a hybrid work schedule.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for the security, treatment and general living conditions of all persons in our care (PIOC) assigned to the unit. The Institution Unit Supervisor is responsible for all activities within the unit, including the coordination of all disciplines to address and monitor PIOC activities and well-being, supervision and direction of assigned staff, facilitation and evaluation of unit-based work assignments, monitoring, developing and maintaining physical plant, and managing the daily unit-based services provided to PIOC. Furthermore, each Institution Unit Supervisor is responsible for the development and maintenance of a specific areas of the institution and the supervision and direction of the involved and affected staff.
Salary Information
The starting pay is between $95,680 and $110,843 per year depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. The pay schedule/range is 81-34.
Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the compensation plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
A 12-month probationary period may be required.
Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have training and or experience in the following: Developing, implementing, and evaluating a program (such as security, treatment, clinical, social services, education, specialized programs, structured activities, etc.). Developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating standards, policies and procedures. Performing supervision or lead worker related activities (e.g. assigning, directing, and/or evaluating work; disciplinary matters, hiring, providing training/mentoring, etc.).
In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have training or experience in the following: Leading, guiding, or coaching other staff (e.g. training, advising, reviewing work, problem solving, etc.).
Participating in multi-disciplinary teams or approaches in the development, implementation and review of programs.
