DSHS FFA Warehouse Operator 2

We have an opportunity for you to join our team in Centralia, WA, that upholds the high standards expected of a large facility that supports residents receiving behavioral health support.

As a Warehouse Operator, you will perform inventory and warehouse functions for the warehouses at Maple Lane School. Typical activities include placing orders, receiving and storing product, conducting inventories, and issuing supplies to staff.. Your work will help Transform Lives.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.


Some of what you'll do:

  • Receiving and checking incoming orders for accuracy
  • Processing receipts into ePMX Inventory System on the same day the order is received
  • Placing received items in correct physical locations in warehouse
  • Issuing items based on approved Consumable Inventory Orders or other internal documents, in accordance with hospital standard schedule deliveries
  • Processing issues daily into the ePMX system
  • Printing an inventory transaction report at the end of each day and reconciling it against actual issues
  • Performing reorder analysis using ePMX Reorder Analysis Report and visual inspection of stock levels
  • Checking contracts or as authorized, securing oral, telephonic or written quotes on items not covered by contract
  • Preparing requisitions and purchase requests for necessary items
  • Assisting customers and vendors – answering phones and email inquiries, receiving and checking in orders
  • Monitoring items with shelf life/expiration dates to reduce waste
  • Assisting with fiscal year-end inventory and mid-year cycle counts; make corrections or enter approved adjustments as necessary
  • Safely operating material handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks and light trucks


What we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of procurement methods, Washington State purchasing laws and requirements, research and market analysis techniques, supply records and storage and warehousing methods, inventory procedures and techniques, and basic contract development and administration
  • Able to organize a large-capacity warehouse to most efficient working arrangement
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must be able to perform prolonged physical labor for duration of shift
  • Willingness and ability to learn/acquire new skills; knowledge and methods related to purchasing, warehouse operations, inventory control, and customer service
  • Computer skills - including warehouse inventory management systems
  • Must safely operate power/hand warehouse equipment, including forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, delivery trucks and any other appropriate warehouse tools
  • Ability to lift 50lbs continuously
  • Ability to work in cold environments such as the refrigerator and freezer for dietary foods
  • Must be able to work independently and with others

Who should apply?
Professionals with a high school diploma or GED
AND
Physical ability to do the required work
AND
One year of clerical or technical experience in retail clerking, warehousing, stock keeping, shipping, or receiving and operation of material handling equipment.
