Description

The Adult Protective Services Division (APS)within the Aging and Long-Term Support Administration (ALTSA) has an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager. In this role, as a program manager, you will be responsible for planning, leading, developing, coordinating, and implementing all APS program policies and procedures throughout Region 3. You will ensure the region is complying with department expectations, quality assurance policies, and procedures, provide supervision, and leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, staffing, consultation, and training for community organizations involved with the APS program across within region 3. The assigned duty station for this position is in Tacoma and they may have to travel around the region for business needs.

Some of what you’ll do:
  • Responsible for supervision of staff and the development of the APS program and policy including implementation of regional operating procedures, Washington Administrative Code (WAC), Revised Code of Washington (RCW), and Long-Term Care Manual
  • Provide supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring evaluating, personnel actions, of staff and initiating disciplinary action when necessary
  • Attend local, regional, and statewide meetings, trainings, and workshops as required.
  • Ensure quality assurance reviews on investigations are entered into the system.
  • Discuss the consistencies and inconsistencies of their findings to determine if policy change or training is required.
  • Draft and assist with drafting of incident reports.
  • Compile and submit reports as requested by the management
  • Issue and monitor contracts for intervention funds
Who should apply?
  • A master’s degree in social science, health, public administration, or related fields, and four years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social and health service programs, OR a bachelor’s degree and five years of professional experience in planning, developing, or supervising social and health service programs preferably in the Adult Protective Services and administered in ALTSA
  • Must be able to effectively plan for program implementations.
  • Manage and analyze workload and staffing issues.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with long-term care providers, community organizations, and law enforcement agencies.
  • Must have complete knowledge and understanding of Federal laws regarding Native American Tribes.
Preferred/desired education, experience, and competencies:
  • Knowledge and understanding of all the regulations regarding Adult Protective Services (APS) in Washington State.
  • Knowledge of and skill to interpret existing State & Federal statutes and regulations about ALTSA services, APS programs, Native American Tribal Codes, and the ability to interpret those statutes and regulations into policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the APS program and general knowledge of due process
  • Knowledge of all programs administered by ALTSA.
  • Knowledge of advanced principles of management, including leadership and staff development, strategic planning, quality management techniques, community organization skills, budget, work plan, and other workflow methods.
