Description

This position designs, develops, delivers, supports, and improves court education programs for internal and external customers throughout the Washington State court community.

Reporting to the CES Manager, this position is an expert-level professional who works under general supervision and exercises sound judgement and decision-making within the assigned scope of responsibilities, along with other responsibilities defined by the CES Manager. This position works in collaboration with the Court Technology Education Coordinator, other Court Educators, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders.
Applying adult education theories, instructional models and strategies, and education best practices, the successful candidate will develop technical instructional content, produce online technical training resources, host and present live training webinars, and support customers training needs. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, production-oriented, and skilled in technical content development and training.

Position may be eligible for hybrid working; a combination of telework and working in-office.

Duties

  • Under the direction of the CES Manager, this position is assigned to a team of court education service providers, and assigned to specific educational programs as a lead educator.
  • Conducts education needs analysis to define educational goals and objectives, and appropriate content and delivery methods for education programs.
  • Partners with subject matter experts to develop instruction for in-person and online learning.
  • Uses and maintains a standardized resource library of relevant instructional materials, exercises, and online training resources used in the delivery of education programs.
  • Evaluates learning effectiveness to inform improvements in educational products and services.
  • Understands and utilizes current trends in continuing professional education, best practices, and best techniques to engage audiences.
  • If assigned to the Education Programs team, the Court Event Educator (Events) is responsible for:
    • Acts as an education liaison on various state-wide education committees, partnering with committee chairs for curricular planning and implementation at annual conferences.
    • Works with Education Operations team to secure appropriate facilities for education programs, training courses, and events.
    • Plans and schedules session presenters, and assists in the creation of their instructional materials, training of presenters, and other event session logistics.
    • Acts as the floor manager (Lead) during live event sessions.
    • Provides in-session educational support to ensure smooth delivery of education throughout each conference.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education or closely related field;
AND
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience in education. (Technology instructional background preferred.)

A combination of education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge and global understanding of education methodology, program/project coordination, and/or court business practices, may substitute for education and/or experience requirements.

  • Ability to analyze and understand complex issues and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to form accurate estimates and achieve them through the use of objectives, timelines, action plans, and solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time and resources, independently and in team environments.
  • Ability to independently design and deliver projects and programs from inception through implementation.
  • Expertise in adult learning theory, instructional strategies, and models.
  • Strong technical aptitude and self-learning.
  • Knowledge of accessibility design standards and practices for instructional delivery.
  • Ability to be highly flexible, adapt to change, and maintain positivity.
