State of Vermont is Hiring a Right of Way Agent II Near Barre, VT

OverviewThe Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is seeking a Right of Way Agent for a position within the Acquisition Unit of the Right of Way Section. Duties involve researching highway right-of-way, title research, valuing land, leases and licenses, and negotiating work for the acquisition of real property needed to construct or maintain transportation infrastructure. Work is performed in the office and in the field, including in-person meetings with property owners and research in Town Clerk's Offices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a requirement. Knowledge of reading highway plans, land record research, Microsoft products, and OnBase helpful.
The main offices are located in Barre City, and the position may be eligible for telework, though it is not a fully remote position.

Environmental FactorsWork is performed in both a standard office setting and in the field involving significant interaction with property owners and local officials. Assignments will require travel throughout the State for which private means of transportation is required. Some evening and overtime work is required.
Minimum QualificationsTwo (2) years or more of full-time college coursework or associates degree in engineering, highway technology, architecture, surveying, public relations, legal studies or real estate AND two (2) years or more of experience in real estate, property management, property administration, or transportation engineering.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND three (3) or more years of experience in real estate, property management, property administration, or transportation engineering.
OR
One (1) year or more of experience as a Right of Way Agent I
Special RequirementsA valid driver's license is required.
