State of Vermont is Hiring a Career coach Near Middlebury, VT

Overview

HireAbility Vermont is recruiting for a Career Training and Education Coach to join our dynamic team in Newport. The CTE Coach will provide time-limited on-site support for participants with disabilities in two settings : education / training settings and / or on the job site.

This position may provide support prior to, during and / or after a participant's work schedule. This might include direct, one-to-one support at job sites to provide hands-on job training in a workplace to help the participant become fully independent in a place, train, fade model.

After the participant has become stable on the job the CTE Coach may provide periodic check-ins with the participant and / or their supervisor.

This position may provide tutoring or coaching at workshops, training programs or classes to help the participant become independent and successful.

This may include college / training program tours, connecting to available supports such as peer mentoring groups, study groups, natural supports or developing and practicing study skills and habits.

Coaches may also assist with pre-vocational skills such as helping people prepare for driving permit tests or CDL exams or other independent living skills that may help secure employment.

The work schedule will vary based on specific training needs of participants. Availability to work occasional night / weekend hours may be requested.

Frequent travel to education, training or job sites will be expected. Mileage reimbursement will be provided for out of office travel.

This position, HireAbility Career Training and Education Coach - Temporary (Job Requisition # 49951 ) , is open to all State employees and external applicants.

This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months or more of work or volunteer experience in human services, customer service, or a related field requiring considerable personal interactions.
