Strategic Marketing Manager
The Department of Cultural & Community Engagement is the heart and soul of Utah’s communities, providing art exhibitions, STEM programs, statewide organizational grants and service opportunities, while managing historic and contemporary collections. CCE is seeking an individual passionate about our state’s culture and community-building programs who will employ measurable strategic marketing strategies to advance the reputation of CCE.

The CCE Marketing Manager will be responsible for implementing the department’s brand strategies across nine divisions and offices. This position will develop comprehensive, integrated, and strategic marketing campaigns for the department, as well as provide consultation and expertise for CCE divisions and programs. In coordination with the CCE communications team, the Strategic Marketing Manager will oversee e-newsletters, social media, and CCE websites, strategize new ways to reach audiences on special projects and campaigns, and lead market research and audience development. This position will also manage and mentor professional graphic and web design professionals to maximize CCE divisions’ marketing campaigns.

Ideal Candidate

  • Will have a strategic content marketing background, with 5 years of professional marketing experience, including project management experience.
  • Will have experience running successful social media campaigns and maximizing website utilization.
  • Will have demonstrated experience driving social media and web advertising solutions, expanding newsletter subscriptions, and developing web campaigns.
  • Will have experience contributing positively to a collaborative team, and experience communicating with a variety of audiences, including colleagues, the media, and the public.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience working as a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Proven record of developing and implementing successful social media, web advertising, and brand campaigns; ability to use key performance indicators to measure success of social media campaigns.
  • Understanding of how to create, maintain, and manage marketing content calendar.
  • Able to serve as department media liaison when PIO is not available.
  • Excellent communication, grammar, and people skills.
Preferences
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or public relations; and/or demonstrated success in marketing or communications, OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and paid professional employment directly related to the above tasks.
  • 5 years of professional marketing and social media experience;
  • Expertise at using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator Adobe Express).
  • Understanding of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics. [Experience with Brandwatch, Falcon.io, or other monitoring platforms is a plus.]
  • Basic knowledge of file types, JPGS, PNGS, PSD, etc., as well as basic familiarity with Wordpress as a web publishing program.
Work Location
This position is eligible for a flexible/hybrid telework model with three days per week required in office located at the Highland State Office Building located at 3760 S. Highland Dr., Millcreek, UT 84106. Please note, a position's eligibility for telework is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.
