Acts as a USDB representative in the community and other agency settings and works with the USDB to ensure that we are meeting our contractual obligations.
Monitors, and participates in the development and implementation of work-based learning experiences and individualized plans.
Completes required paperwork, keeps records, carries out curriculum, services, and provides direct service to individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Provides information concerning rights, options, benefits, services, goals, and expectations.
Assesses student needs and develops and implements plans to meet those needs.
Ensures progress towards objectives and vocational goals; evaluates students' abilities and disabilities.
Helps with transportation to various job sites.
Works under the direction of the Vocational teacher in implementing/supporting independent/life-skills students and curriculum.
Provides assistance and/or on-the-job training.
Conducts training needs assessments and recommends training programs.
Designs and/or prepares training/instructional materials, teaching aids and devices.
Develops business and collaborative relations in the community to promote employment for people with disabilities.
Provide career counseling and employment search strategies to assist job seekers.
Have knowledge of information and techniques needed to provide career guidance, agency and community resources and services.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism.
Communicate clearly and effectively.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
May require assisting students in personal hygiene and needs.
American Sign Language (ASL) skills required.
Successful completion of criminal background check is required for this position.
Health Insurance - Public Employee Health Program (PEHP):
3 medical plan options. Choose a Traditional or High Deductible Health Plan. There is an Opt-Out Cash Benefit option for those that have other medical insurance coverage.
5 dental plan options, with an Opt-Out Cash Benefit option for those that have other dental insurance coverage.

Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):
Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.
Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System.
Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.
Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.
Paid Time Off:
Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).
Annual leave amounts increase with years of service.
We have 12 paid holidays.
