JJYS Technician II-Mill Creek Youth Center
If you would like a position working with today's youth, then you are in the right place! A great way to start your career in Juvenile Justice is to become a Technician II. A Juvenile Justice Technician's work with delinquent adolescents in the following types of environments:
  • Short- and long-term secure confinement
  • Multi-use facilities
  • Community-based programs.
 
Principal Duties
  • Oversee and work closely with high risk/ violent youth offenders
  • Monitor visitors & residents within the facility
  • Schedule and coordinate activities for the youth
  • Assist the Control Supervisor by making perimeter checks
  • Resolves potentially dangerous situations to ensure the safety of staff, clients, and or the public by applying appropriate intervention techniques to people, facilities and property
  • Pass the Integrated Crisis Response (ICR) intervention program within 90 days of employment
  • Practice "Standards of Care" and supervision of delinquent youth
  • Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing (read and understand information presented in writing)
  • Write correspondence, reports, documents and other written materials
 
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who is available to work rotating shifts, which include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Preference
May be given to candidates 19 years of age
May be given to candidates who have a high school diploma or GED
