**This position will be used to fill multiple summer internship positions in the Department of Transportation District Two, Construction and/or Maintenance offices located in Abbeville, Anderson, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Newberry and Saluda.**
The responsibilities of Engineering Technician includes:

• Assists in the inspection of the construction and/or maintenance of highways and bridges.
• Assists in the use of survey equipment for construction and/or maintenance activities.
• Assists inspectors performing field tests on earthwork and concrete materials.
• Assists in completing daily work reports and other required documentation for construction and/or maintenance activities.

Pay rate is between $17.00-$23.00/ per hour depending on qualifications.A high school diploma; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
Applicants must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or University program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management.
