State of South Carolina is Hiring a Transitional English Adjunct Instructor Near Spartanburg, SC
Responsibilities include teaching grammar, basic writing skills, and introduction to composition at varying times depending upon course offerings, following the established syllabus and addendum to a diverse student population in the Transitional Studies department using technology and multiple instructional methods that emphasize student success and retention. Assess learning and participate in the department continuous improvement process. Bachelor's degree in English with experience teaching grammar, basic writing skills, and introduction to composition, a bachelor's degree in a qualifying are (Teaching English as a second language, English education, Language Arts Education, Developmental Education, Adult Education, with experience teaching grammar, basic writing skills, and introduction to composition.)Master's degree in any discipline with 18 graduate semester hours in english, education, language arts, Literature, or a related discipline. Teaching experience in developmental or adult education and experience teaching grammar, basic writing skills, and introduction to composition. Work schedule and location dependent upon course offerings. Preferred availability: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 9:20 am; 9:30am - 10:50am; 11:00 am - 12:20 pm; 1:00pm-2:20pm; 2:30pm - 3:20pm.
