State of South Carolina is Hiring a Program Coor II - Quality Assurance Near Orangeburg, SC

Under limited supervision of the Program Manager, Executive Director, plans, coordinates, develops, implements, and monitors Center’s QA/QI program; provides education and training to staff regarding QA/QI issues.
Who We Are
Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center is part of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center/OAMHC provides mental health services to individuals in Orangeburg, Calhoun, Bamberg and Holly Hill Counties.
1. JOB DUTY: QA/QI COORDINATION & DOCUMENTATION COMPLIANCE ASSESSMENT: Evaluates the progress of new and current employees in complying with QA/QI standards through quarterly internal audits of the Center and special audits as needed. Evaluates the compliance of Center services and programs to state QA standards. Serves as the Center’s QA/QI chairperson.
2. JOB DUTY: QA/QI TRAINING: Provides orientation for new clinical staff in all areas related to quality assurance and quality improvement, to include quality of care, record documentation and confidentiality of client information and provides ongoing training to all appropriate staff for ongoing QA/QI information and issues. Provides QA topical training to groups of staff based upon individual or program audits or special requests. Coordinates CARF activities for the Center and keeps the Executive Director abreast of all client issues.
3. JOB DUTY: PRIVACY OFFICER: Is the Center resource person for all issues related to HIPAA and State privacy and confidentiality issues. Includes training and updating of staff regarding same and providing management recommendations regarding specific privacy/confidentiality issues and situations; handles client complaints regarding privacy.
4. JOB DUTY: CREDENTIALING COMMITTEE: Coordinates credentialing needs for all provider staff at the Center. Coordinates with Central Office to ensure all credentialing information is up-to-date and in adherence to current credentialing standards. Serves as the Center’s Credentialing Coordinator/Chairperson.
5. JOB DUTY: CORPORATE COMPLIANCE: Standing member of the Center’s Corporate Compliance Committee. Monitors Center compliance and reports to DMH Compliance Officer as appropriate.
6. JOB DUTY: NATIONAL ACCREDITATION: Coordinates the Center’s maintenance of national accreditation. Ensures policy and process aligns with CARF standards.
STATE AGENCY: A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
DMH Requirement: Master’s degree and two(2) years of mental health experience in quality assurance related activities: or a bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of mental health experience in quality assurance related activitiesKnowledge of normal and abnormal behavior adjustment techniques. Knowledge of clinical
practices and interviewing techniques. Knowledge of legal principals and practices. Knowledge of investigative techniques, principles and practices. Knowledge of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling services. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws or regulations pertaining to a social service program. Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying established objectives. Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment interventions.
