THE POSITION
Start an exciting career with the Department of Corrections (DOC) as a Corrections Locksmith! The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Frackville is seeking an individual skilled with electronically controlled equipment and internal security to join our team.
The work you accomplish in this position will ensure the safety and security of employees, inmates, and visitors. If you have locksmith experience and are looking for a new way to apply your skills, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Locksmith, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanically, electronically, and pneumatically controlled equipment used to open, close, and lock doors and gates at SCI Frackville.
Your duties will include installing, maintaining, and repairing new, existing, or inoperable locks and associated mechanisms.
You will perform routine and preventative maintenance checks to ensure equipment is operating properly. You can expect to produce original and duplicate keys from blanks, log broken and damaged keys, and make necessary adjustments to master and issued key sets.
Additionally, you will oversee inmates in the performance of non-security related tasks, such as moving materials, hanging doors, and repairing door closures.
