OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed by criminal courts.

We are accepting applications for two full-time permanent Social Worker 1 positions within the Community Support Network, located on the campus of the Columbus Developmental Center, headquartered at Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare, 2200 West Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43223.

What You'll Do:

Primary:

  • Plans, coordinates, provides assistance to the forensic team clients in assessment & treatment planning. Trains & mentors forensic team staff in technology and other intervention modalities.
  • Performs psychosocial interventions with client in an individual, family or group forum.
  • Monitors clients response to treatment as prescribed in the client's treatment plan.
  • Assists clients in securing benefits & other community resources. Provides outreach services to CSN clients & counseling services in the community setting such as client homes, inpatient settings, as well as correctional settings.
  • Conducts & facilitates individualized service planning with assigned clients.
  • Maintains appropriate licensure for provision of services offered.
  • Prepares documentation as required: documents all services, writes & maintains case records, provides data & information needed to complete service billing.
  • Provide assistance/consultation to non-licensed clinical staff. Assist in developing training programs for non-licensed clinical staff.
  • Acquire & maintain proficiency level through continuing education in Motivational Interviewing, stages of change & appropriate interventions for each stage;
  • Keep current with CSN Directives Manuals; participates in continuing professional development; attends appropriate conferences, workshops & training sessions.

Will have to transport clients in state vehicle and personal vehicle.

You must possess a valid, active LSW to qualify for this position.

QualificationsRequires current license as social worker (i.e., LSW) as issued by State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage & Family Therapist Board in accordance with ORC 4757.28. Pursuant to ORC 4757.41 (A)(5) any person engaging in social work or professional counseling as a civil service employee as defined in section 124.01 of the Revised Code who has at least two years of service as of July 10, 2014 is exempt from current licensure as social worker (i.e. LSW) requirement.
