What You'll Do:

Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is looking for a dedicated security minded professional to assume the responsibilities of aCriminal Justice Planning Specialist located within the Bureau of Community Sanctions, in Franklin County.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Plans, monitors and evaluates various data management systems utilized by the Bureau of Community Sanctions (BCS).
  • Independently oversees the transfer of Transitional Control (TC) and Treatment Transfer (TT).
  • Participants from the Halfway House to the Adult Parole Authority (APA) as required.
  • Monitors various BCS email accounts and responds accordingly.
  • Oversees the expungement process.
  • Collects and analyzes submissions from grant and contracted programs to include the Central Pharmacy Process and the TC and TT Rotary accounts.
  • Responds to inquiries from incarcerated individuals.
  • Plans by keeping informed of developments or changes in statutes, policies, and procedures, and provides technical advice to agencies and interested parties.
  • Utilizes DOTS, OCSS, and other data management systems as needed.
  • Collects data, generates and analyzes reports.
  • Interacts with other sections within DRC to address BCS issues.
  • Maintains & promotes good public & human relations.
  • Provides training to DRC staff and community partners.
  • Responds both verbally & in writing to inquiries, concerns & complaints.
  • Assists as needed.
  • Researches, compiles & analyzes data used in preparation of periodic & special reports & correspondence.
  • Attends staff meetings, training sessions & seminars.
  • Participates on committees & other special tasks as required.
  • Must conduct themselves professionally & in a law-abiding manner, at all times & in accordance with Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction Standards of Employee Conduct.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in planning & monitoring criminal justice programs.
  • Or completion of undergraduate major core program in criminal justice or related field of study (e.g., penology).
