State of North Carolina is Hiring a Vocational Evaluator Near Catawba, NC

As of June 1, 2023, the new salary range will be $36,682-$64,194

This Vocational Evaluator position will be located in Hickory VR/IL Unit office. The selected candidate provides comprehensive vocational evaluation assessments and evaluations to consumers with a range of disabilities, education levels, and work experience in order to assist with job planning and placement.
 Job duties include:
  • Conducting community-based vocational assessments
  • Administering/scoring/interpreting an extensive variety of vocational interest, achievement, and aptitude tests
  • Analyzing consumers' medical, psychological, socio-economic, vocational and educational information in the context of vocational planning
  • Developing and administering a formal evaluation plan for each individual served
  • Creating written reports which may be used for other agencies in determining disability benefits and compensation
  • Gathering occupational resource information for better service deliverables
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary teams and committees
  • Collaborating with Business Relations Representatives for cohesive service delivery for achievement of a suitable vocational goal
  • Partnering with consumers and their family members, employers, school personnel, and other community agencies/contacts
  • Performing other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of or experience with report writing
  • Knowledge of or experience in working with the public

Management preferences:
  • Knowledge of or experience with the disability community
Master's degree in vocational evaluation, rehabilitation counseling or closely related human services field from an appropriately accredited institution;
OR
Bachelor's degree in vocational evaluation, rehabilitation counseling, or a closely related human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities;
OR
