Job Description:

Facility is seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week travel contract. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in sterile processing. This role involves working in the Operating Room, focusing on decontamination, prep and packing, sterilization, sterile storage, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow safety standards in the operating room and patient care areas.
• Decontaminate, prep, and pack instruments according to manufacturer instructions.
• Identify and use appropriate supplies for assembly.
• Inspect and assemble general instruments, checking for cleanliness and functionality using count sheets.
• Package and label instrumentation.
• Safely operate sterilization equipment and perform verification and documentation of the sterilization process.
• Perform high-temperature (steam) and low-temperature (gas plasma) sterilization.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work independently under stressful conditions.
• Continuous standing and walking; frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and stretching.
• Ability to push or pull heavy loads and lift up to 40 pounds.

Skills and Experience:

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technologist is preferred.
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) is highly preferred.

Additional Notes:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, verified by a 3rd party. Green scrubs are the required uniform. The ideal candidate must be flexible, able to work independently, and comfortable with high-pressure environments.
