 This temporary position is located in Durham, NC - Durham County.

 Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $35.88 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). 

 
 This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 115 Market St, Suite 201, Durham, NC 27701.
This position requires licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina. A Physical Therapist (PT) working at the CDSA will conduct eligibility determination evaluations for children referred to the ITP using standardized testing tools and informal evaluation methods such as observation and caregiver reports. They are responsible for evaluating the adaptive, communication, motor, cognitive and social-emotional development of children birth-three to determine eligibility for ITP services. The PT will also complete developmental assessments, provide consultation and support to families and other direct services CDSA staff, assist with the development of family service plans in collaboration with other team members, and provide treatment services as needed.They will manage multiple tasks while adhering to timelines when submitting documentation.

  • Considerable knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, methods, modality and their proper application. 
  • Ability to instruct and supervise subordinate staff members, student interns, and other medical personnel in physical therapy methods and techniques. 
  • Ability to teach physical therapy treatments to patients and patients' families. 
  • Ability to prepare and evaluate reports. 
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, patients' families, medical, nursing, and other staff members and to deal tactfully with the public.
