About the Division of Child and Family Well-Being:
At NC DHHS the Division of Child and Family Well-Being (DCFW) focuses on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians. DCFW works to ensure that North Carolina’s children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities. DCFW has complementary Public Health and Mental health programming that maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children’s behavioral health services, and early intervention programs. 
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and providing statewide nutrition, policy, and education resources, and materials for institutions applying for or participating in the CACFP. This position will develop and conduct training using principles of adult learning. This position will oversee the NC CACFP participation in one or more state obesity prevention initiatives, including breastfeeding-friendly childcare designation, farm to preschool, Go NAPSACC, IHOPE, and other obesity prevention programs. This position requires an individual with nutrition expertise who can provide accurate and consumer-friendly nutrition information to child care and adult day care providers.To receive credit for all of your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the application form. Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following:

• Knowledge of methods, techniques, and equipment used in quantity food production, including purchasing, menu planning, sanitation, food storage, staffing and equipment.
• Considerable knowledge of local, state and federal laws, statues and regulations governing child nutrition and child care programs.
• Ability to learn, interpret and apply applicable regulations pertaining to Child Nutrition Programs.
• Ability to analyze program-related issues accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
• Ability to train others on CACFP laws and program operations.
• Skills in planning, designing and developing educational programs, planning programs and intervention strategies, public speaking, organizing work, working with individuals and on a team.
• Skills in using technology to develop and deliver training, including webinar, video, PowerPoint, Adobe Connect, and Rise 360.

Manager Preference:
Prefer that the applicant has experience in federally funded child nutrition programs, training and module development, adult learning principals, and nutrition policy.

Master's degree in nutrition or public health nutrition from an appropriately accredited institution and holds the credential of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and three years of program administration or supervisory experience.
