State of North Carolina is Hiring a Grounds Worker Near Granville, NC

This is a posting of position [60084239]. 
The Camp Butner Training Center provides well-maintained small arms ranges and training facilities for year-around use to support the mission of the NCNG (North Carolina National Guard). Units and organizations that use the facilities include the NCNG, other US Army units, miscellaneous other DoD (Department of Defense) elements, civilian law enforcement agencies and civilian-sponsored marksmanship programs. This position is responsible grounds maintenance and general repairs/upkeep in support of the Camp Butner
Training Center in Stem, North Carolina. Position maintains 5,000 acres of Camp Butner Training Center. Duties: Must be able to operate tractors with bush hog and other attachments, z-turn mowers, seeders, weed eaters, backpack blowers, chainsaws, and all other tools used by grounds personal. Applies herbicide/ pesticide under supervision of a licensed individual. Must be able to work as a team on other large projects. Must be able to perform maintenance on assigned equipment. Participates in other grounds related tasks as assigned, including road maintenance, pressure washing, painting, raking, trash collection, general cleanup, etc.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. Note to Current State Employees:
The salary grade for this position is NC01. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
About the NC Dept. of Public Safety (DPS):
The mission of DPS is to safeguard and preserve the lives and property of the people of North Carolina through prevention, protection, and preparation with integrity and honor. Included in this department are Alcohol Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice Information Network, Emergency Management, Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, NC National Guard, NC Office of Recovery and Resiliency, Samarcand Training Academy, State Capitol Police, and State Highway Patrol. Also included are these Boards and Commissions: ABC Commission, Governor’s Crime Commission, Private Protective Services Commission, and Boxing & Combat Sports Commission. DPS is comprised of approximately 6,000 permanent positions and nearly 13,000 NC National Guard temporary positions.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
-Experienced in operation of multiple types of equipment such as (tractors, z-turns, bobcats, dump trucks, backhoes, etc.).
-Experienced in performing maintenance on equipment.
-Experience in work of two of the following skills. (Mowing, weed eating, tree and brush trimming, drainage systems, erosion control, applying herbicides, etc.).
 Other License or Certifications Required for position: 
Per 5 CFR 731, upon appointment, applicant must be able to obtain a favorable suitability and fitness determination from a Tier 1 background investigation conducted by the Office of Personnel Management. Failure to obtain a favorable determination may result in termination of employment.Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. Minimum Education and Experience Education and/or experience in grounds work that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade and equivalent to two yearsof experience in planting, cultivation, and care of shrubs, trees, plants and grasses.
