This posting is recruiting for two positions.

**Per G.S. 126-5(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.***
The Clinical Dietitian is expected to provide quality comprehensive nutritional assessments and follow up for individuals who are intellectually disabled and/or have complex behavioral challenges. Job responsibilities include the following:
  • Must possess excellent time management skills and work independently maintaining an assigned caseload,
  • Communicates with other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team
  • Participates in department quality improvement programs and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned
Work Location: Dietary DepartmentWork Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday (generally)

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they clearly possess all of the following: 
  • Considerable knowledge of currently accepted principles and practices of nutrition and dietetics.
  • Considerable knowledge of diet therapy and disease. 
  • Ability to assess, design, and implement nutritional care plans for individuals. 
  •  Skill in teaching, diet counseling and communicating such as patient education. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
  • Ability to work independently
Management Preference:
  • Registered Dietitian licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina.
  •  Experience in working with individuals who are intellectually disabled and/or have complex behavioral challenges.

Master's degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR);

Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
