StateJobsNY is Hiring an Office Assistant 3 (Human Resources) Near Albany, NY

Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 12 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The Office Assistant 3 Human Resources will be responsible for a wide range of activities within Labor & Employee Relations, and/or Personnel Services. The various duties may include the following:
•Utilize appropriate manuals (Civil Service Attendance and Leave Manual, Civil Service Rules and Regulations, policy memos, and union contracts), to conduct research for matters dealing with leave-related issues.
•Administer various employee benefits programs for all employees statewide. . This includes health insurance, survivor's benefits, and other benefits afforded by unions.
•Understand, interpret, and apply the principles and practices of personnel administration, particularly as practiced under the provisions of the NYS Civil Service Law and the Attendance and Leave rules.
•Initiate HCM transactions.
•Process transactions and ensure data is prepared accurately.
•Assist with recruitment and classification transactions as needed.
•Efficiently monitor and process traineeships and/or probations for employees.
•Efficiently monitor and track shared email mailboxes and electronic fax.
•Process various reports and provide updates as changes occur.
•Reconcile data between program applicable systems, canvass eligible lists, and acceptor responses.
•Serve as a processing liaison with the Business Services Center (BSC).
•Interact with customers and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
•Efficiently utilize program databases, applications, and Microsoft Office Suite.
•Create, organize, and maintain office files.
•Perform tasks in an efficient, timely, and safe manner.
•May perform the full range of supervisory duties.
•Perform other duties and special projects as required.
•Preferred experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
Additional Comments NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.
