The Position

Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

This position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Health and Human Services for the Quality Assurance Unit for Adult Protective Services (APS) in Las Vegas, NV. Duties include but are not limited to conducting reviews of program, resident surveys, and case files; understanding and interpreting state, local and federal policy; policy and program recommendations; revising and maintaining procedures and manuals; producing reports and developing spreadsheets; providing technical assistance to staff as needed; assisting, developing, providing and coordinating training; working with sister agencies, services recipients and providers for the betterment of the program and to maintain quality; participating in work groups and performing related duties as assigned.
