The Position

Registered Dietitians provide nutritional care and medical nutrition therapy for individuals and groups in institutional, clinic, research, community and residential settings and provide nutrition education to clients/patients and families in accordance with accepted professional practices and standards.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Aging and Disability Services Division is currently recruiting for a full time Registered Dietitian 3 position in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the Desert Regional Center - Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). The facility provides support to people with intellectual or developmental disabilities and is licensed by the Bureau of Health Care Quality.

The Registered Dietitian 3 is part of clients' interdisciplinary team and will work with team members to provide nutritional services to include participating in review/revision of dietary policies & procedures to assure food safety, planning and implementing in-service training and annual food safety training, responding to requests for food/diet/nutrition related help or information, assure satisfaction, individual choices, respect, safety, best possible health, and continuity to clients and submitting written reports of observations and follow-up regarding issues in the homes.
