The Position

Auditors conduct audits on accounts, records, activities, operations and/or internal controls of individuals, business organizations, State agencies or other government jurisdictions subject to State taxation or regulation to ensure compliance with State and federal rules and regulations and legal requirements and/or proper safeguarding of agency funds.

The Department of Taxation is recruiting to fill an Auditor 2 position within the Compliance Section of the Las Vegas office. The incumbent will serve as Commerce Tax field auditor in the Southern Nevada Region and will be responsible for independent financial audits of taxpayer records. The incumbent will conduct special investigations and specific audits in areas determined to be "at risk" by the supervisor and will investigate suspected instances of employee fraud as necessary. The position has a travel requirement of up to 50%.
