State of Missouri is Hiring a SW Mobile Social Services Specialist (III) Near Joplin, MO

Location: Southwest Region of Missouri. Base location is negotiable

This is a Children's Service Worker III for the Mobility Unit.

The Children’s Division is seeking applications for the position of Social Services Specialist in Southwest Region focused on providing support to offices that are experiencing staff shortages.

What you’ll do:

  • Working with local leadership to develop a plan to assure vacated caseloads in any program area (alternative care, family-centered services, resource development, etc.) are covered or be assigned Child Abuse and Neglect reports and to assure the reports are completed timely.
  • It will be necessary to provide case consultations, facilitate Family Support Team Meetings, and in general, provide leadership support for the frontline staff.
  • When not actively providing support to Circuits, the position will then be responsible for supporting new staff to enhance their skills via On the Job Coaching.

  • Flexibility is a priority for this position as it will require a high amount of travel and possible overnight stays

Special Requirements:

  • Ability to travel throughout the State of Missouri as needed

Qualifications:

  • Social Services Specialist - A Bachelor’sdegree from an accredited college or university. A degree in Social Work or comparable human services field is preferred; however, applicants with an unrelated Bachelor’s degree, but possessing direct relevant experience and/or competencies may be allowed substitutions on a case-by-case basis; and, Three or more yearsof professional experience with a public or private agency in the delivery of protective services, including casework/case management in: investigation of abuse or neglect; coordination of foster care, adoptions, and family centered services; treatment/rehabilitation; and/or providing in-home family crisis intervention services, and possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.
