State of Missouri is Hiring a Risk Management Specialist Series Near Jefferson, MO

This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate starting salary of $52,755.36, and a senior starting salary of $59,086.08.

Offers above the posted amount may occur depending on similarity of internal work or transferability of knowledge, skills, and abilities of internal applicants.

Job Location: Central Office - Employee Health and Wellness Unit, 105 West Capitol, Jefferson City, Missouri

The risk management specialist performs routine entry-level activities in the areas of risk management programs and processes, including, but not limited to, the administration of self-insurance programs, employee safety programs, loss control and loss prevention programs, and employee occupational health programs. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintaining medical files and web based database for workers' compensation claims.
  • Acting as a liaison between the department, employees, and medical personnel for workers' compensation claims.
  • Processing invoices in a timely manner.
  • Providing reports on workers' compensation information.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: Risk Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Safety Management, Behavioral Science, or related field

Special Working Conditions:

  • Job requires occasional, statewide travel.
  • Hybrid telework option may be considered. Full-time telework is not available.
