Job Location: This position will be located at 920 Wildwood Dr, Jefferson City MO, but will qualify for telecommuter status.

Why you’ll love this position:

In this position, you are a Registered Nurse for the Bureau of Home Care and Rehabilitative Standards. You will be a telecommuter working from your home office when not out completing surveys. You will be responsible for understanding the Federal Regulations and State laws pertaining to providers of licensed and/or Medicare certified home health agencies, hospices, and outpatient physical therapy clinics, thus using that knowledge when going onsite to conduct surveys, ensuring agencies are complying with the regulations and providing quality care. There is no scheduled weekend work.

The home health, hospice and outpatient physical therapy providers are located throughout the entire state, so you can anticipate a great deal of travel with overnight stays of 3-4 nights per week on a regular basis, allowing familiarity with all of the Bureau’s regulated entities. Your success is measured by both team and individual productivity, carried out with a committed work ethic while maintaining a high level of integrity.

What you’ll do:

• Conduct on-site surveys to assure compliance with federal and state regulations
• Investigate complaint allegations of inappropriate patient care
• Review clinical records for documentation requirements
• Interview agency staff, patients and families
• Observe direct patient care, making home visits during the survey
• Address problems found on survey
• Serve as a resource for agencies as they develop their programs
• Complete appropriate, accurate and timely survey reports

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Missouri license for Registered Nurse in good standing
• A valid driver’s license
• Home health, hospice or health related surveyor experience preferred
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational & time management skills
