The Regional Office Provider Relations Team is recruiting a dynamic, positive and flexible professional to support the Provider Relations team and contracted provider development, in pursuit of quality provision of supports and services. This position oversees professional staff who offer technical assistance to providers and monitors their service delivery systems to assess quality of services to individuals and compliance with contractual, regulatory and Medicaid Waiver requirements.

This position supports the Western District (Kansas City and Albany) and must be physically present in a Kansas City Office at least one eight hour work day each week. Additional in-office workdays may be required, up to five workdays per week, based on scheduled meetings, at any office in the eastern district.

Primary Functions:

  • Partner with and provide technical assistance to stake holders regarding service delivery and requirements including but not limited to contract language, Code of State Regulations, Medicaid Waiver service definitions including standards and record keeping, Individualized Supported Living and Shared Living budgets, staffing patterns, certification standards, and policy and procedure development.
  • Review, interpret, analyze and apply agency standards for care and treatment/habilitation of persons served by the Department of Mental Health.
  • Conduct analysis of Quality Assurance data (event reports, fiscal review, event management tracking and quality management findings) to identify possible provider systemic issues to be addressed.
  • Initiate Provider Corrective Action Plans as identified by data analysis, incident evaluations and referrals to ensure desired changes are affected, objectives achieved and program changes are maintained.
  • Facilitate evaluation of provider contract renewal and termination processes.
  • Develop and assure completion of provider and Division staff training, attend and present material as needed.
  • Facilitate bi-annual information meetings open to all providers.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of information management systems, which includes but is not limited to Share Point documents, Excel, Integrated Quality Management Database and CIMOR.
  • Engage in and facilitate Continual Quality Improvement activities.
  • Disseminate Division and Regional communication and obtain data and responses when required.
  • Manage special projects assigned to the provider relations team.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to professional, technical and program staff.
    • Review, submit, and approve all timesheets by established deadlines.
    • Hire, develop and promote qualified individuals through defined department processes.
    • Perform and document Engage process with each team member monthly.
    • Address situations that need to be addressed in a timely fashion.
    • Foster an open environment for the exchange of ideas by being open to differing opinions and ideas.
    • Make timely and consistent decisions and communicate those to staff in a clear manner.

Typical qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
