Program Coordinator-Special Assignments

Annual Salary Range: $47,000 - $60,000

The Division of Employment Security, UI Tax section is looking for an independent, self-starter with excellent analytical, interpretation and customer-focused skills to join our team! We provide administration of the unemployment insurance program in the areas of status determinations, experience rating, audit compliance, tax collection, worker misclassification, unemployment claims, federal certification and reporting. This position may be filled in Jefferson City.

What you will do:

  • Provides technical support, reviews procedures, creates written reports of review findings, and makes recommendations for program improvement.
  • Oversees the business side of technology programs utilized in processing employer liability unemployment claims, and accessing unemployment claim information.
  • Assists in writing instructions for operating manuals, revising forms, and developing new procedures for UI Tax programs as they pertain to law and policy changes.
  • Assists in developing training regarding UI laws and procedures
  • Collaborates with other sections/agencies such as ITSD, UI Benefits, UI Integrity, and UI Appeals to ensure all policies are implemented seamlessly for all sections.
  • Collaborates with vendors/contractors as a project team member or coordinator for UI Tax section
  • Works with the tax management team in providing on-going support with the goal of supporting and determining strategies to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Oversees the technology deployment for the cashiering program utilized in processing payments for Tax and Integrity sections to ensure all banking institution technology requirements are compliant.
  • Logs necessary tickets with detailed information for application or system enhancements, updates, etc.
  • Effectively communicate any program requirements with the necessary management representatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience (Substitutions may be allowed.)

  • Ability to analyze and evaluate policies and operations, and formulate recommendations.
  • Ability to provide support and guidance to professional, technical, and related program staff.
  • Strong ability to provide business requirements
  • Ability to manage change and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to develop short and long-range plans that meet established objectives, and contribute to the overall goals and mission of the agency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Possess strong business acuity and attention to detail in Tax operations to guide process development and system changes.
