State of Missouri is Hiring a PRN Therapeutic Service Worker (FTC-North) Near St. Louis, MO

Therapeutic Service Worker

PRN Position with set hours; 8am-2:30pm

St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center provides specialized care for clients diagnosed with mental illness. Main responsibilities include working with our clients in the library at FTC-S, helping with Central Activity Therapy activities and events, and supervising of client workers.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate a positive customer experience in the library. Present a welcoming and courteous demeanor at all times. Answer questions and assist clients in obtaining materials. Help clients develop computer and printing skills. Validate clients’ needs while setting limits and maintaining boundaries.
  • Maintain and organize existing collections. Manage and report circulation through use of Atriuum digital cataloging system.
  • Acquire new materials and technology tailored to our population and remove outdated items. Maintain a record of requests to aid in collection development.
  • Host regular visits by the Saint Louis Public Library Adult Outreach Program.
  • Assist client workers in developing skills such as shelving materials, downloading music files from the public library, and performing basic circulation tasks.
  • Help plan and/or lead facility wide Central Activity Therapy activities/events such as games, concerts, seasonal carnivals, dances and contests.

Eligibility:

  • Two years of experience in customer service or closely related work.
  • Two years of experience in the mental health field or closely related work.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the public.
  • Ability to complete assignments accurately within specified timeframes.
  • Efficiency with Word, Excel, and Publisher.
  • General computer literacy needed.
