State of Missouri is Hiring a Pesticide Use Investigator - Northeast Missouri Near Macon, MO

SALARY: $44,038.32 annually (non-negotiable)

Do you want to help protect Missouri consumers? As a Pesticide Use Investigator, you will be responsible for inspecting pesticide applicators and dealers in the following counties: Putnam, Schuyler, Scotland, Clark, Sullivan, Adair, Knox, Lewis, Linn, Macon, Shelby, Marion, Chariton, Randolph, Monroe, Ralls, Audrain, Pike and Lincoln. Additionally, you will conduct marketplace inspections to make sure pesticides offered for sale are registered, perform worker protection standards inspections and observe pesticide use applications. Finally, you will conduct investigations to determine compliance with the Missouri Pesticide Use Act and the Missouri Registration Act.

This position will be domiciled in Macon, Shelby or Knox counties. Applicants in other areas will be considered if willing to relocate to one of these counties.

Ability to travel extensively in the performance of duties, including frequent overnight stays. Ability to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions. Proficient use of word, data and email processing.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

One year of experience in one or more of the areas described below AND graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in agriculture, plant or soil sciences, biology, environmental science, or business administration. (Graduate education in biology, chemistry, environmental science, plant pathology, forestry, agronomy, or a closely related area may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required work experience.)
Special Qualifying Experience

1. Professional or technical experience in the pesticide industry which affords a knowledge of proper pesticide application, restriction and usage.
Special Requirements

1. Ability to obtain proper pesticide certification in accordance with Department of Agriculture standards and timeframes.
